A Charleston man was sentenced Friday in Kanawha Circuit Court in a shooting death that occurred on Charleston’s West Side.
Donald Raines was sentenced to five years in prison.
Raines had pleaded guilty previously to voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Jerry Baldwin. He admitted he started an argument with Baldwin when he saw his ex-girlfriend with Baldwin outside Raines’ Mary Street home in November of last year. Raines retrieved a gun from the house and shot Baldwin as he walked up to his porch after making a threat.
