In the race for Governor, Earl Ray Tomblin wins.
Tomblin defeated Republican challenger Bill Maloney 51% to 45% with 95% of precincts across West Virginia reporting.
For Tomblin this is his second win but it will be his first full term as Governor. Tomblin thanked his supporters and made light of how many races he's been in over the past 18 months. Tomblin defeated Maloney last October in the special gubernatorial primary race to replace then Governor Joe Manchin who won a seat in the US Senate. Tomblin says he's excited to finally be able to focus all of his energy on governing.
Tomblin vowed to make jobs a top priority and to keep the state in good financial order.
Even though Tomblin only served one year in his first term, it counts as a full term so this win will be his second and final term in the Governor's office.
