The Appalachian District of the U.S. Postal Service announced that Social Security checks will be available for pickup for those customers who are not getting mail delivery at home due to continued weather-related problems.
"We want our customers to know that they can pick up their Social Security checks at their local post office if they are not getting mail delivery at home," Appalachian District Manager Larry Wagener said in a news release. "However, customers should call their local post office first, during normal business hours, to make sure their Social Security check is there before venturing out of their home."
Customers will need a valid, photo ID that matches their street address in order to pick up their Social Security check.
