West Virginia State University closed its Institute campus Tuesday. The university's WARN system notified students and staff of the closure about 10 a.m.
Meanwhile, some Marshall University's South Charleston campus is closed Tuesday due to a weather-related power outage. Classes there are canceled and employees should not report to work, said Dave Wellman, director of communications for Marshall.
Classes provided by Marshall at Beckley’s Erma Byrd Higher Education Center and at the Teays Valley Center in Putnam County also are canceled Tuesday due to the winter storm.
