A Michigan man pleaded guilty to traveling to West Virginia with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.
Ashlee C. Liebert, 33, of Whitmore Lake, Mich., pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday. Liebert admitted having a relationship with a 12 year-old minor from Putnam County for five months, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin’s office.
Liebert said he communicated with the minor by email and cellphone, in which the conversation was sexual in nature, the release said. Liebert also admitted to exchanging sexually explicit images with the minor.
Libert traveled from Michigan to Putnam County to meet with the minor on March 10, the release said. Liebert admitted to picking the minor up and parking on the side of the road in Buffalo. Police found items such as a bag of candy and vodka. Police seized computers with more than 600 images and videos of minors engaged in explicit conduct.
Liebert faces up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced Feb. 11, 2013.
