The woman who spearheads “The Jefferson Awards,” an Eyewitness News program that honors outstanding public service, was one of 12 people named to the West Virginia Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Jo Corey was honored this weekend during an induction ceremony at The Museum of Radio and Technology in Huntington. In addition to “The Jefferson Awards,” Corey made significant contributions to the station over a long career that included stints as program manager and operations manager.
Other inductees to the Hall of Fame were Debra Thomas, Willis Cook, Mark Davis, Steve Mazure, J.B. Miller, George Parnicza, Jim Reader, Garry Ritchie, Loray Robinson, Vernon Stanfill and Rich Wachtel.
Hall of Fame committee chairman Tom Resler said the inductees have created a diversity of programming at radio and TV stations across the state.
