Tragedy strikes at a Tygart's Valley football game Friday night. Police say it happened at 7:15 PM just before the Tygar's Valley game in Mill Creek, which is in Randolph County. Two students got in a fight and apparently one student died from a stab wound.
According to a spokesperson at Davis Memorial Hospital says the victim was 17 year old Dustin White. Randolph County School's Superintendent James Phares got to the game shortly after the stabbing. "We put the stadium on lock down. We put the player from both teams in the locker room until the suspect was detained and that's why the game was delayed."
Phares said the suspect, whose name isn't being released, fled the scene but actually ran through the stadium and around the school, then eventually game back to the scene. It's not clear how the teen was detained.
The suspect is currently being held in a juvenile detention center.
