Deputies say they arrested a father and son from Kentucky who allegedly had marijuana shipped to their home.
James Hay Sr., 66, and James Hay Jr., 38, both of Argillite have been charged with trafficking in marijuana, according to a news release from Greenup County deputies.
When deputies arrived at their home along Cherokee Way about 11 a.m. Thursday, they found Hay Sr. running into the house with packages. Deputies said he then took off out the back door and into the woods. He was arrested after a short chase. Hay Jr. was arrested inside the residence without incident.
Deputies said those packages contained about 22 pounds. More arrests may be made by authorities in Arizona after further investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
Both men remain in jail at the Greenup County Detention Center.
