Two Wayne County parents were charged after police said their child was left unattended for several hours and was found climbing a fence to get to a playground.
Jessica G. Hundley, 29, and Kody A. Fore, 29, both of Lavalette, were arrested Tuesday and charged with child neglect creating risk or injury. The couple's 3-year-old child was found climbing an 8-foot fence leading to a playground for Prichard Elementary, according to complaints filed in Wayne County Magistrate Court.
Employees of the school kept the toddler for three hours before the parents attempted to look for the child, the documents state.
Hundley and Fore are lodged in the Western Regional Jail.
