If holding your kids back from trick or treat activities has been like controlling an eager pack of hounds, here is some good news – you can finally unleash the youngsters for some Halloween fun. Trick or treat events are being hosted Thursday in Charleston at two locations – Capitol Market and Charleston Town Center. At Capitol Market, Trick or Treat at the Market is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Charleston Town Center has its annual Halloween event, Wee Trick or Treat, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mall officials say kids can dress up in their best costume and trick or treat in a safe, fun environment. Following the trick or treat event at the mall, a Halloween costume contest is scheduled there from 7:15 p.m. in Macy’s Court. Registration for the costume contest begins at 5:30 p.m. in Macy’s Court. There also are some HallowEast activities set in Charleston. At 6 p.m., there is an East End Main Street Murder Mystery Party featuring the No Pants Players at The Woman’s Club of Charleston, 1600 Virginia St. E. Local Improvisational Comedy Troupe No Pants Players return to HallowEast for another thrilling evening of murder and mayhem. At the mystery party, everyone is a suspect, so pay close attention from the moment you enter. Enjoy adult beverages and local cuisine as you attempt to solve the mystery. If your investigative skills are top-notch, your name will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes from East End businesses. Be sure to get your tickets early because they won’t last long. Last year’s murder mystery was standing room only. For those who would like to see a horror-themed art show, the ArtMares show continues from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Contemporary Galleries, 1210 Smith St. Don’t forget to check out a full list of Halloween-related events slated for over the weekend and next week at wchstv.com, from trick or treat hours to haunted houses and trails.
