A Charleston man was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly drove past a police car while under the influence of heroin and with his headlights turned off.
Patrick Merrifield, 35, is charged with DUI and possession of heroin.
Police said they found a syringe with a needle, a spoon and a small amount of heroin inside his car once they pulled it over along Leon Sullivan Way in Charleston.
Michael Merrifield, Patrick Merrifield’s brother, has been convicted of murdering 2-year-old Logan Goodall. The defense tried to call Patrick Merrifield as a witness, but he took the Fifth Amendment and refused to testify.
