A deal expected to end a 6-year-old murder mystery fell apart in the courtroom today in Calhoun County.
Murder suspect William "Seth " Denmark announced he wanted out of the plea bargain that would have meant a ten year sentence for second degree murder saying: "I didn't kill my best friend and there's no f--cking deal. After three years there is no evidence against me. I did not kill my best friend and I will go to trial and there is no deal. "
Denmark is accused of the 2006 murder of David Beech near Arnoldsburg. Cops found a bullet and a bloody grave but not the body of the 17-year-old from Spencer. Denmark backed out of the deal when the prosecutor wanted another delay in the sentencing.
He had been jailed more than two years.
The judge did not like the deal mandated 10-year second degree murder sentence that did not require Denmark to say what he did. Judge David Nibert said; " It provides no closure to the victim's family. The court does hereby reject the plea agreement. "
His trial has been set fort February 26, 2013. Police alleged Denmark forced Beech to dig his own grave then shot him.
