Dozens of gamers tested their luck and skill at the Char-Con Board Game Tournament in Charleston over the weekend.
Players competed in epic battles with cards, dice and miniature figurines at the Charleston Town Center Mall on Sunday.
Some participants came dressed up to take part in live action role-playing events.
Attendees say that this is a great way to meet other people that share their passion for gaming.
"Every year people come out here and wonder in and see it and they start playing games," staff member Travis Reynolds said. "We also get a good draw -- we get people from all the surrounding states that drive and come to the show every year."
Each year the Appalachian Gamers bring board games to the convention to get everyone into the spirit of the event.
