Eyewitness News has learned the name of a hunter who fell to his death over the weekend.
Mark Allen Metz, 50, of Milton died after apparently losing his balance while descending from a tree stand, said Hoy Murphy, spokesman for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
The accident happened in the Rock Castle area of Jackson County Saturday evening.
A man is dead after a hunting accident in Jackson County.
Dispatchers say the man was hunting in the Rock Castle area Saturday night when he fell from a tree stand and died.
The victim's name has not been released.
At this time, it is unclear what caused the man to fall.
The Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
