Police say a would-be purse snatching was thwarted after the victim screamed for help and witnesses followed the suspect.
Billy Lee Walker, 39, of Huntington was arrested and charged with robbery following an incident that occurred Thursday along Fifth Avenue in Huntington, according to a complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
A woman was walking along Fifth Avenue when a man allegedly tried to grab the purse, the documents said. The woman screamed for help and the suspect fled. Several witnesses followed the suspect where he was arrested in the 200 block of 28th Street.
