It may only be October, but there are signs at the West Virginia State Capitol that Christmas is not that far away.
The 2012 West Virginia Governor's Mansion holiday ornament is making its debut. First lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin was scheduled to unveil the limited-edition ornament Wednesday at the Culture Center in Charleston.
The Governor's Office said Alum Creek artist Shelley Goodman hand-painted this year's ornament. It's the third in a series of four ornaments painted by Goodman.
The ornament will go on sale at the West Virginia State Museum Gift Shop for $24. Proceeds from the ornament sales will go to the Governor's Mansion preservation fund.
