Some local churches are showing off the success of their after-school programs.
The partnership of African American churches is celebrating “Lights On After-School” at the King Center in Charleston.
They met Tuesday with state and federal leaders to show off after-school programs to keep kids safe and provide a place for students to learn outside of the classroom.
The “Lights On” after-school event is part of a nationwide effort to support those programs.
