Charleston City Council members continue work to revamp the East End by keeping certain businesses out of the area.
Council unanimously passed a ban on adult businesses. This means bail bonds, pawn shops, gambling establishments and storage facilities are banned in the Urban Renewal District on the East End.
Council members also changed the parking ordinance on Virginia Street, from Laidley Field to Capital Street. Overnight parking will be permitted in the right lane from 6pm to 6am.
