A man was stabbed in Charleston overnight; but instead of being the victim, police say he is the suspect. The stabbing happened in the 400 block of Randolph Street in Charleston shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Detectives say 46-year-old Jeffery Brock's girlfriend stabbed him in the back twice after he allegedly beat and chocked her. Brock allegedly ran from police after being stabbed, but was found a short time later. According to Charleston Police, the girlfriend acted in self defense and will not be charged. "She was in a situation where a much larger, stronger male was trying to cause her serious, bodily injury. And in those circumstances, self defense kicks in. And sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to defend yourself," said Chief of Detectives, Lt. Steve Cooper. Brock is listed in serious condition at CAMC. He will be charged with domestic battery. -------------------------------------- A man is in the hospital after he was stabbed in the 400 block of Randolph Street Saturday morning.
