Dozens of Cabell County students experienced life as the American pioneers once did.
More than 130 students visited Heritage Farm in Huntington Friday morning where they learned how their ancestors lived. American pioneers migrated West to join in settling and developing new areas.
Students were able to tour the museums located on the farm and do some hands-on activities.
"We like to promote the past and let them know about their heritage, but right now you can learn from the past and grow and dream about what they can do," said Laura Perry with Heritage Farm.
Saturday, during the farm's "Way Back Weekend," event, they will feature metal workers such as blacksmiths and silversmiths.
