Putnam County may be getting a new gas station, but with one big concern.
There's talk a new Sheetz is being built along West Virginia State Route 34 and Teays Valley Road.
But here's the issue, people living in the area say the lot for the future site currently serves as a busy bus stop for Putnam County schools.
Tonight the Board of Planning and Zoning met to hear from both Sheetz and the residents. The biggest topic at hand was the concern for the safety of the residents and their kids.
Green Acres resident, Edward Pinex, says "our problem isn't with Sheetz in itself. Our problem is with the safety of the children."
As of right now, the fate of the new Sheetz is yet to be determined.
