Road crews are already preparing for winter weather. West Virginia Division of Highways crews are getting ready for snow removal and ice control during the winter season.
DOH workers began dry runs earlier this week in other districts and in Kanawha County Thursday.
Officials say it's important to prepare now so they are ready for the upcoming winter weather season.
"Some of the older employees will show the new employees how to run their routes -- specific little tricks to know when you're out there treating for the snow," said RJ Scites, a DOH maintenance employee.
The DOH said it has plenty of salt right now for the start of the snow season.
