Police arrested a man Wednesday after they said they found nearly 20 pounds of marijuana and a pot growing operation in his home.
Phil W. Bell, 33, was charged with cultivation and trafficking, according to a news release from Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly. Bell could face charges related to a property theft from Ohio University. Child Services were notified because a baby was present when the marijuana was being cultivated, the release said.
The Narcotics Enforcement Team of the Athens County Sheriff Department received a tip about a marijuana growing operation at a home in Bean Hollow, the release said. A detective drove by and saw marijuana on the front porch when officers decided to search the home, the release said. Detectives allegedly found nearly 20 pounds of marijuana and property believed to be from Ohio University.
