A man in Gallipolis, Ohio, rescued his neighbors when he forced his way inside a burning mobile home, saved the mother and pulled her 3 year old to safety after spotting the child’s hands in the smoke, authorities said.
Christopher Williams saw heavy smoke coming from his neighbor's mobile home on Fraley Drive on Wednesday and sprang into action, according to a news release from the Division of State Fire Marshal in Ohio.
Williams tried to wake the family and forced his way in to rescue the mother. He then went back in to see if anyone else was inside. Through the smoke, he saw the hands of a 3 year-old child and pulled him to safety, the release said.
The three did not need to be transported to the hospital. The home was destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire marshal and the Gallipolis Fire Department.
