Charleston firefighters responded to a fire on the West Side of Charleston Wednesday morning.
Flames were coming through the roof when firefighters were at the scene of the blaze at 1231 Stuart St. There also appeared to be some smoke damage. A specific damage estimate was not available.
No injuries were reported.
A renter at the residence said he just turned on the furnace in the furnace room when he smelled smoke.
A Metro 911 dispatcher said the fire was reported about 10 a.m. and had been extinguished at about 10:30 a.m.
