Firemen and women across the country are trying to raise awareness on fire safety in homes, and it hits close to one Charleston community that lost nine lives in a house fire earlier this year.
On March 24, 2012 two adults and seven children lost their lives in a house fire on Arlington Avenue. People in that community have taken steps to help prevent fires in their own homes.
Sunday kicks of National Fire Prevention Week. Fire fighters are visiting homes raising awareness on the importance of smoke detectors and a fire plan in their homes.
