BURGLARY ARREST Police Catch Man Accused In String Of Burglaries

A Wheelersburg, Ohio man is behind bars accused of burglarizing several homes in several different towns.
34-year-old Matthew Dawson is charged with four counts of burglary, one count of breaking and entering and one count of grand theft auto.
Police say Dawson broke into several houses in Porter Township, Clay Township, Vernon Township, Green Township, and Madison Township.
Deputies got a tip that Dawson was staying in a house on Cherry Street in Sciotoville. When they searched the house, they found him hiding in a large hole he had cut out of a mattress.
Deputies were able to recover some of the stolen property, including a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
Dawson will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Tuesday. More charges are pending.
