A messy scene in in Putnam County Saturday afternoon after a tractor trailer carrying nearly 60 cows overturned.
Deputies say the truck, out of Iowa, was carrying about 53 cattle, along Route 817 in Frazier's Bottom, when the driver somehow lost control. Police think the cattle shifted near a turn, making the truck even more top heavy and off balance.
The driver is okay, but at least two cows were killed.
It took crews hours to clear the roadway and transfer the cows into another pin.
Route 817 in Putnam County is shut down after a tractor trailer carrying nearly 60 cows overturned near the Buffalo Bridge.
Dispatchers say one person inside the tractor trailer did suffer minor injuries.
The road will be shut down for several hours while crews cleanup the wreckage and transport all of the animals away from the scene.
