Lawrence County, Ohio, sheriff’s deputies say a man reported he accidentally shot his girlfriend while cleaning his gun.
James Cron told authorities he was cleaning his gun about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Coal Grove, Ohio, when the gun went off and his girlfriend, Lena Owens, was accidentally shot in the breast area while getting something out of the refrigerator, according to a news release from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
Owens was taken to the hospital for her injuries, but they are not considered life-threatening.
Deputies determined no drugs or alcohol was involved. No one was arrested.
