Kanawha County deputies said they found thousands of prescription pills and thousands of dollars in cash inside a Kanawha City home.
Eric Simmons, 26, is charged with possession with intent to deliver. Deputies said his arrest late Thursday evening came after an intense investigation by Kanawha County's "STOP" Team that had been ongoing for several months.
Deputies said Simmons has allegedly been dealing pills that came from Detroit.
The "STOP" team arrested Simmons at his home on 56th Street in Kanawha City, where they said they found $35,000 in oxycodone pills, and $35,000 in cash.
Officers said they also recovered several guns and marijuana. Deputies said a bust of this magnitude is an achievement for the department and it will only help lessen the crime in the area.
"To get this amount of narcotics off the street is really helpful for us. It cuts down on crimes, people breaking into cars, residence, whatever getting what they can to pawn, trade, whatever for the sale of the pills," Cpl. F.E. Flowers said.
Simmons remains in the South Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.
