The second annual Kidney Walk will be stepping off later this month.
The walk will feature games for children and a lot of other activities too, but by taking part in the walk, you will be helping out the National Kidney Foundation, in their effort to spread awareness.
Kidney disease is prevalent, but a lot of people are not aware of the resources out there to help, according to organizers.
"One in three people are at risk for kidney disease and one in eight actually have kidney disease and many people don't know it, so it's sort of a silent disease," said Elisabeth King with the National Kidney Foundation.
The walk is Saturday, October 13. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m. at the State Capitol Complex. WCHS-WVAH will also have a team participating in the event.
