A woman charged with having sex with a pre-teen boy will remain in jail a while longer before her trial gets underway.
Melissa Sigman, 32, is accused of having sex with an 11-year-old boy. She was arrested back in February of 2011.
On Friday, the defense requested Sigman spend her time on supervised probation so she could be with family, but the state said psychological tests have proven that she is criminally responsible for her actions and prosecutors are afraid she will commit another crime.
Kanawha County Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib decided to continue the hearing for another 30 days to allow the DHHR to respond and give their opinion on her sentence.
