The driver of a car in Huntington lost control Thursday evening, nearly landing in the fountain at Ritter Park.
Demetrius Plante, 30, of Huntington was driving under the influence, according to Lt. John Williams. Officers say Williams came barreling down 10th Street and almost hit the fountain. The accident happened about 10 p.m.
"It becomes a spectacle when something like this happens. He hit a couple of other things on his way down here which was a friend of ours car. And some other vehicles too," said Kyle Baughman.
Plante was arrested a short time later charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without insurance.
