A Kanawha County man caught with child pornography on his home computer will not go to prison.
Chester Wilkinson faced up to two years in prison, but instead received two years of probation and another five years of court supervision. In Kanawha Circuit Court Thursday, Judge Paul Zakaib pointed out that Wilkinson had no prior criminal record and that a psychiatric study showed a low risk he would be a repeat offender.
There was no evidence of any sexual contact with children. Wilkinson will have to register as a sex offender and will not be allowed to have a computer or smart phone.
