Police are investigating a stabbing that apparently occurred Wednesday night after a couple became involved in a dispute.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. in the 3000 block of Fifth Avenue. The woman told police her boyfriend had taken her car out for a drive and wrecked. She said he ran back to their house, and they started arguing about the incident when he got a knife and stabbed her once in the leg.
The boyfriend reportedly talked to police over the phone and told them the couple had been drinking, but the woman was the one who wrecked the car. He said they went back to the house on Fifth Avenue and she's the one who grabbed a knife and tried to stab him, when she accidentally stabbed herself.
No arrests have been made at this time. Huntington police continue to investigate.
