A performance of the National Anthem will have true star power at Mountaineer Field Saturday.
Country music star Trace Adkins will sing as West Virginia University marks its first Big 12 Conference game in Morgantown. The Mountaineers take on Baylor.
Adkins' performance will make the third live performance of the National Anthem at Mountaineer Field.
Kathy Mattea performed the selection before the Marshall vs. WVU game in 1997, and Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. sang it at the LSU vs. WVU game last year, said Matt Wells, assistant athletic director for marketing and sales for West Virginia University.
The game WVU-Baylor contest kicks off at 12 p.m. Saturday.
