Ashland Police have a new tool to help keep officers safer on the job.
Boyd County EMS recently donated an ambulance to the Police Department to use as a critical response unit.
In the past couple of weeks, they have used it on the scene of a bank robbery and a search warrant execution. It acts like a command post during an emergency.
"It's going to be used as a multipurpose vehicle," Ashland Police Chief Robert Ratliff said.
The Sheriff's Office was also given an ambulance to use.
