A man was arrested on a domestic battery charge after a woman called deputies and said her friend posted a message on Facebook saying her boyfriend was holding her against her will, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said.
Steven Adam Young, 19, was arrested after deputies received a call about 6 p.m. Saturday that the woman, Tessa Dawn Buckner, 18, was at her boyfriend’s home at No. 35 Whispering Way Trailer Park in St. Albans, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
When deputies went to investigate, they saw a large group of people outside the trailer. The group told deputies that a disturbance was going on inside. Adams walked outside and said all was fine inside his home, the release said. Deputies found Buckner inside, and she told them Young had struck her in the face with his fist, the release said. Deputies said Buckner had noticeable swelling.
Young was arrested and taken before a magistrate who set bond at $5,000. He is being held at South Central Regional Jail.
