Hundreds of family, friends and loved ones gathered at the University of Charleston Thursday night to say their final farewells to 14 year old Drew Morton.
Services started at 3 p.m. Friends say they remember Drew as a fun loving young man who had a lot of potential both on and off the George Washington High School football field.
Morton was a passenger in a car driven by his 15-year-old friend Sunday morning in Kanawha City.
The driver only had a learner's permit, and lost control of the car.
Drew was not wearing a seat belt and later died from his injuries. The teen driver has been charged with negligent homicide.
