South Charleston police executed a search warrant at a Charleston pawn shop after a man was arrested for stolen goods, late Tuesday night.
Police arrested Samuel Ranson for allegedly stealing from several South Charleston businesses, on Tuesday.
They say for the past two days he had been stealing from Cabela's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Wal-Mart and Drug Emporium. He was allegedly taking items such as heart monitors, cameras, and fishing equipment.
Police say he would then take the stolen goods to Keller's Survival & Pawn located at 3227 Washington Street West in Charleston and sell them.
Police say the pawn shop wasn't recording transactions properly, including the merchandise that was allegedly sold to them by Ranson. They discovered this after running a search on "Leads Online."
All pawn shops in Kanawha County are required to submit their "daily tickets" to the electronic service, which police say, wasn't done.
