Excitement is building in Wayne County over a project that is getting closer and closer to becoming a reality.
W.Va. lawmakers have set aside nearly $5.5 million in funding for a lodge and convention center at Beech Fork State Park.
It's not a done deal yet, but the plan is to build a 50 room lodge and convention center similar to Stonewall Jackson, and Cannan Valley state parks.
The proposed lodge is expected to bring $1.3 million to Wayne County's economy and more than 20 jobs to the area.
