After putting in hours of her own at Habitat for Humanity, one Putnam County woman has a new home.
Family and friends gathered to see Karen White receive keys to her home on Montana Avenue in Hurricane Thursday evening.
White is part of a partner family with the Habitat for Humanity Foundation. She has previously helped build homes for others.
And after 250 volunteer hours and numerous classes, White said it feels good to finally be home.
"I've learned a lot of things about home ownership and construction, but it's time for us to move forward in the next chapter," she said.
This was the 149th Habitat home built in the Kanawha-Putnam area.
