Thursday marked the third anniversary of the death of Charleston Police Officer Jerry Jones.
Jones was killed by friendly fire following a police chase. The suspect, Brian Good, also was shot and killed.
Following the incident, then-Gov. Joe Manchin signed into law tougher penalties for those who run from law enforcement. “The Jerry Jones” Act increases prison time for those who flee from authorities in a case where an officer gets injured or killed.
