A Kanawha County man and a Boone County man pleaded guilty in separate drug cases in federal court.

Gary McFaddin, 48, of Tornado pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The release said members of the South Charleston Police Department and the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team seized a package while conducting drug interdiction operations at the UPS distribution plant in South Charleston.

After a K-9 unit gave a positive indication of the presence of drugs on the package, police obtained and served a search warrant. The package contained 90 30-milligram oxycodone tablets and about 99 10 milligram hydrocodone tablets. The release said a law enforcement officer disguised as a UPS deliver driver delivered the package to McFadden, who was using an alias. The suspect admitted that he intended to distribute the oxycodone and hydrocodone contained in the package.

McFaddin faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine when he is sentenced Dec. 19.

Meanwhile, in another case, Jason McClure, 33, of Alkol, Boone County, pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to conspiracy to distribute oxymorphone and oxycodone, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

McClure admitted that between January 2010 and January 2012 he made trips from his Boone County residence to Ohio and illegally obtained controlled substances. He arranged to meet an individual in Canton and was stopped by law enforcement officers for speeding. During the course of the traffic stop, the release said, police seized hundreds of pills and the defendant admitted he was traveling to Boone County to distribute the drugs.

McClure faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine when he is sentenced Dec. 19.
