Fans of all things Mothman should rejoice – a festival paying tribute to the winged creature takes flight again this weekend in Mason County.
Events for the 11th Annual Mothman Festival In Point Pleasant are scheduled Friday through Sunday.
At 7 p.m. Friday, the Mason County Public Library on Viand Street will have a storytelling event featuring Susanna “Granny Sue” Holstein and Jason Burns.
Highlights on Saturday include a 5K race at 8:30 a.m. that starts next to Tu-Endie-Wei State Park; the opening of the festival at 10 a.m. with remarks by Point Pleasant Mayor Brian Billings; and a Halloween storybook reading at 1 p.m. on the main stage.
TNT area airplane rides will be offered Saturday and Sunday by the Mason County Airport.
Music also will be featured during the festival on Saturday on the Riverfront Park Main Stage. Bunk Hammer will perform at 2 p.m. and 2 River Junction will perform at 4 p.m.
