ANGEL TREE PROGRAM Angel Tree Sign-Up Schedule Announced For Four Counties

The Angel Tree sign-up schedule for Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln and Mason counties has been announced.
People interested in participating in the program may sign up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 1 through Oct.3 and makeup days will be offered 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 4 and Oct. 5, according to a news release from The Salvation Army. The signup will be at 1227 Third Ave. in Huntington.
Here is the schedule for sign up, based on last names: Oct. 1, last names ending in A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H; Oct. 2, last names ending in I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P; and Oct. 3, last names ending in Q-R-S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z.
To apply for Christmas assistance, the following documentation is required, West Virginia driver’s license or West Virginia State ID; birth certificate or Medicaid card for all children; a utility bill dated within the last 30 days (proof of address); Social Security cards or Social Security Administration printouts of Social Security numbers with the seal and proof of income (such as pay stubs, income tax forms and benefit letter).
The angel tree program is for children from birth to 10, and children must have been born between Oct. 1, 2002, and Oct. 1, 2012.
Children must not come with parents to sign up or pickup. Participants should be prepared to provide accurate clothing and shoe sizes for all children 10 and under.
