Thousands of people gathered together in the capital city on Sunday to remember the life of a trooper who died in the line of duty earlier this week.
Friends, family, and Cpl. Marshall Bailey's fellow members of the WVSP addressed the crowd at the Charleston Civic Center this afternoon.
A procession that included hundreds of patrol cars from various law enforcement agencies throughout the state, followed Bailey's hearse to his resting place.
Cpl. Bailey will be laid to rest at the Bailey Family Cemetery in Poca Sunday evening in a private ceremony.

Thousands came out to the Charleston Civic Center to pay their respects and honor Cpl. Marshall Bailey who was killed in the line of duty Tuesday night.

A public memorial service for WVSP Cpl. Marshall Bailey began at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Charleston Civic Center.
Some six hundred West Virginia State Troopers have taken their seats.

The Charleston Civic Center has been selected as the site for the funeral of the trooper slain in a shooting in Clay County.
The funeral of State Police Cpl. Marshall Bailey will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Civic Center, a Civic Center official said.
Bailey was killed Tuesday in the Clay County shooting. Another trooper, a deputy and a bystander were wounded. The suspect was killed.
Details of the funeral service for Bailey were unavailable. Stay tuned to Eyewitness News for further updates.
