Several organizations and community members will gather in South Charleston Wednesday to kick off design plans for a playground that will be geared toward people of all ages.
The customized playground on Second Avenue will be funded primarily by Humana, a leading health care company, and will be created with personal drawings and other input from local community members - from children to seniors - collected during this special design day, according to a news release from the groups participating in the project.
Representatives from the city of South Charleston, St. John Heart and Hand Daycare and Humana Inc. will join organizers from KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit organization, at the LaBelle Theater to kick off the design plans, the release said.
At 2 p.m., community children will design their dream playground, and adults will participate in the design plans at 3 p.m.
