The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is promoting 44 members of its law enforcement division to the next rank.
A ceremony was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday in Courtroom No. 4 in the old Kanawha County Courthouse, Lt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department said.
Seven lieutenants are being promoted to captain, seven sergeants to lieutenant, 18 corporals to sergeant and 12 deputies to corporal. Of the promoted is the county's first female captain, Deborah Walters.
