Friends are still trying to come to terms with the death of 34-year old Kate Taylor. By all accounts, she was a happy, fun-loving young mother who police say was murdered at the hands of her boyfriend.

"She was just such a loveable person. And I just can't imagine that there would have been anything that she could have done to warrant this," said friend, Ashley Waybright.

Wednesday night, police found Kate and her boyfriend Chris Kinder dead inside their home in the Kelley's Cove subdivision in Hurricane.

Police say Kinder stabbed Kate then shot and killed himself. The couples' nine month old baby was in her crib. Luckily, Ella Grace wasn't harmed.

We're told police responded to previous domestic violence calls at the home.

As Kate's longtime friends Michele Honaker and Ashley Waybright continue to cope with the loss of Kate, they want to make sure her memory lives on.

The women spearheaded a vigil for Sunday night at Capital High School to honor Kate's life and to raise awareness about domestic violence.

"Women who are in situations like that and they have children with that man, they can still get out. They don't have to stay with the man because they have a child," said friend, Michele Honaker.

It will take a long time for these broken hearts to mend. But friends are hopeful the vigil will help them find peace, and they say that's what Kate would have wanted.

"Everyone loved her. She was beautiful from the inside out. She will be greatly missed," said Waybright.

The vigil will start at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Capital High School.
